Ethical Elephant Encounter – Poutang Village (No Riding)
Mondulkiri is well known for its ethical elephant sanctuaries.
Our knowledgeable local guide will help you visit a Pounong community project that protects and cares for the elephants in a responsible and sustainable way.
🕗 08:30 AM
Pick-up and drop off from your hotel in Sen Monorom.
Transfer to Poutang Village (15 minutes).
Visit the village and begin trekking down the valley through beautiful forest scenery.
🕗 10:00 AM
Arrive at Leng Trok Waterfall.
Relax at the waterfall and learn about traditional Pounong food, where villagers cook lunch in bamboo tubes.
🕗 11:00 AM
The elephants arrive at the waterfall with their mahout.
You can:

Enjoy a delicious traditional Pounong lunch at the waterfall.
After lunch, the elephants return to their sanctuary.
🕗 01:00 PM
Trek back through the forest and landscape to Poutang Village (approximately 2 hours).
🕗 03:00 PM
Transfer back to your hotel (15 minutes).

🕗 08:30 AM – Hotel Pick-up
We will pick you up from your hotel in Sen Monorom and depart for Nam Lia Mountain (Big Rock Mountain).
Nam Lia Mountain Trek
The drive takes about 45 minutes from Sen Monorom. After arriving, we will walk approximately 400 meters from the car park to the top of the mountain. The trek includes some climbing using a rope.
At the summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, listen to the sounds of the forest and birds, and learn the story behind the name Nam Lia Mountain.
We will spend around 1 hour and 30 minutes here.
Bousra Waterfall
Next, we travel to Bousra Waterfall, the largest and most famous waterfall in Mondulkiri.
You will have time to explore the natural surroundings, walk across the beautiful bridge between the two waterfall tiers, and climb up for a stunning viewpoint.
We will spend about 1 hour at the waterfall.
Phnom Bay Chhav
At around 12:00 PM, we continue to Phnom Bay Chhav, a scenic highland viewpoint.
Here, you can enjoy the landscape and hear the story of why this hill is called Phnom Bay Chhav.
We will spend about 15 minutes here.
Ficus Rainforest Spot
Finally, we visit a special Ficus rainforest area, where you can see birds, wild monkeys, and a large sacred “magic” tree. This is a peaceful, non-touristic nature spot.
🕗 02:00 PM – End of Tour
We will return you to your hotel.
